Venture Lab
UC’s Venture Lab helps entrepreneurs from idea conception to startup launch. We connect the Bearcat community to knowledge, talent and resources to help launch scalable startups. The team includes UC staff, entrepreneurs in residence, mentors and technical experts.
1819 Learning Lab
Located in the 1819 Hub, and serving the broader Cincinnati Innovation District, the 1819 Learning Lab is a think tank for the art and science of learning. The lab enables people to learn and unlearn different mental models, empowers them to build a culture of learning and collaboration and excites their curiosity to unlock bigger, better, faster innovation
Center for Entrepreneurship
The Center for Entrepreneurship offers consulting, executive education and professional development to leaders of new ventures and executives of mature businesses aspiring to be more entrepreneurial. Services, which are provided by UC faculty and staff work in conjunction with professional affiliates, include a Small Business Institute consulting program and executive MBA-level coursework for executives, business leaders and functional managers.
Technology Transfer
UC's technology transfer team is comprised of specialists in licensing, business development and legal matters, with vast experience in transferring technologies across a broad array of research and innovation fields.
Ground Floor Makerspace
The Ground Floor Makerspace is open to all 1819 partners and other area businesses. Capabilities include 3D printers, graphics, laser cutting, textiles, sewing, CNC machining, electronics, IoT, waterjet cutting, woodshop, metalworking, welding, software and digital services. Engage your employees in teambuilding events, test new business ideas through student innovation challenges, create prototypes with the help of technical staff and develop new skills and certifications.
IT Solutions Center
The Information Technology Solutions Center is an initiative of the School of Information Technology that provides innovative and affordable technology solutions to individuals and organizations. Founded in 2012 by Dr. Hazem Said, ITSC serves government agencies, startup companies, research centers, public and private companies, as well as faculty members across the university. We offer services such as research, development, support, project management and training.
Esports Innovation Lab
The Esports Innovation Lab is the home for practice, competition, events and community. The lab serves as a catalyst for student development, providing opportunities for personal and professional development with partners within the business community and the Cincinnati Innovation District.
Goering Center for Family and Private Business
An initiative of the Lindner College of Business, the Goering Center for Family and Private Business promotes family business and job creation, growth and sustainability by advocating for family businesses, their lifetime of savings and the issues they face running their businesses every day.
Co-op
The University of Cincinnati is the birthplace of cooperative education, and we consistently rank among the top five universities nationwide for co-ops. Each year, students earn a collective $75 million working for thousands of employers all over the world, including GE Aviation, Disney, Toyota, Kroger, P&G and more.
Capstone
Capstone projects serve as a culminating experience, allowing students to demonstrate practical application of knowledge while helping solve business problems. Recent UC capstone projects have included analysis of data for P&G’s FemCare Digital Innovation Team, assessment of electronic health records for life insurance underwriting, and development of a potential new treatment for iron overload disorder.
Student Creative Agency
UC’s new in-house, student-powered creative agency includes a deep bench of talent in marketing, creative design, content creation, photo, video and social media. The agency currently works on projects for the university, and plans to expand their services to local businesses in the future.
1819 University Honors Portal
The 1819 University Honors Portal is a hand-picked list of top student talent at UC. Launched in early 2023, the portal is being piloted among select corporate partners. Through the portal, companies can connect with students representing the best in creative thinking and adaptability.
