Makerspace

Welcome to the Ground Floor Makerspace + Microfactory, open to all university students, faculty, staff, and our 1819 partners.

The Ground Floor Makerspace + Microfactory at the 1819 Innovation Hub is a space for research, exploration, and creation of new ideas, objects, and products by supporting industry partnerships, academic research, and engagement with maker-oriented student groups. Our mission is twofold: to empower the transformation of ideas into the material world; and to support innovation through the prototyping phase. In certain circumstances, we are prepared to shift roles to enable small-scale production of projects developed within.

We welcome the opportunity to work with you in developing a hands-on, making-centered culture at UC. We support making of all kinds, though we prioritize resources for projects geared towards entrepreneurialism, research, club competitions, and academics. Classes and clubs that wish to propose projects for completion in the Makerspace should contact the Makerspace Manager to discuss the scope and timing of their project.
